The quality of gear in a person’s outfit has always indicated a
discriminating horseman, one who takes a great deal of pride in his horses,
gear, and
themselves. Today’s horsemen are often found in competitive arenas as
well as on the ranges of the West. We are proud to be able to offer
handmade
pieces from many of the West’s most highly regarded craftsmen.
Each of the craftsmen that build this gear is
involved with using the gear day in and day out. This means they understand the
function and durability required.
In 1988, we began to offer mane and tail horsehair, and since have expanded our commitment by bringing you high quality horse gear, accessories and music. Our job is the pleasurable one of bringing together the “tools of the tradition” of yesteryear, in order that the old ways of horsemanship are not forgotten, and a vision for the future.
While we remain well rooted in the history of the vaqueros and buckaroos, Hitching Post Supply stays on the leading edge of the industry, inspiring new concepts, and offering the best and the newest for you.
We continue to add items to both our print catalog and the web site. We have over 150 titles of cowboy, buckaroo, and western music. Hundreds of books on cowboys, cowgirls, buckaroos, vaqueros, and their crafts.
In July of 2008 we will begin to feature a Gallery of the finest quaility one of a kind works of art for sale directly from their designer/makers. These pieces have been displayed and shown in musuems, exhibits, shows, in books and magazines. New pieces and artisians will be added often.
